Biography
The Berlin born bookbinder Sabina U. Nies was trained, among others, by British bookbinder Dominic Riley and the German Master Bookbinder Tini Miura. Sabina graduated from the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluride, CO. She taught classes at the San Francisco Center for the Book and most recently private classes at her studio. She entertains her own bindery "SUN Book Arts" for more than 10 years and is living in Ashland, OR. Her books and boxes are made using traditional techniques and tools. The materials are carefully chosen to accomodate special different purposes. Her works are unique pieces of hand crafted treasures to outlast our fast flying time.
Sabina's leather fine design bindings and artist books/boxes can be found in private and public collections in America, Japan, and Europe.
